War of the Words is a scifi novel contest brought to you by SciFiNow, Play.com and publisher Tor UK. It’s organised by agencies in the UK, but it’s open to anyone from anywhere in the world.
Some details:
- Participants need to send in three chapters and a synosis of your novel
- Entries close 20 August, 17:30 GMT
- By that date, you must have a completed science fiction or fantasy novel (between 80,000 to 150,000 words) if they ask for it
- Entries must be in English
- Entrants can’t have been published before
- Entrants must be 18 or above as of May 2009
- One entry per person, and no joint entries
The winner will be published by Tor, which has published writers like Douglas Adams and China Mieville.
